Loaf Pony Plush Complete

Hello again!

Over the weekend I was able to finish my own pony load plush :D

I started off cutting out the paper pattern and pinning it onto the fabric. After stabbing myself a few times with the pins I started tracing the shapes with a pencil and  cutting out them them out.

All the pieces are all cut out and ready for sewing! But first I need to make the plush's face before sewing it together.

I decided to use acrylic paint for the mouth and to edit the eye inserts because I wanted them solid black.

Now it's time to start sewing! I decided to hand stitch her since I don't have more access to a sewing machine and I also feel a plush is a little more special when it has that hand sewn labor in it :)

When sewing a plush its important is sew inside out so the stitches are hidden. For this plush I used a a basic whip stitch.

Haha finished most of the sewing and she looks creepy inside out! It is a very basic pattern so it basically sewing a box shape with a few small details.

Now its time to pull her inside out again so the good outside is showing.

Here she is! Haha she looks very limp. Now she needs her mane, tail, and wings!

Now after sewing on her final details on it's time to give her one of the most important factors of the plush, stuffing! I am going to be stuffing her with a lot of fluff to make her extra squishy and cuddly.

Last is to sew up the opening where her stuffing went and after all that work she is completed!!!!!!!!

Now I have my very own My Little Pony Derpy Hooves plushie :D I am thrilled with how she turned out and how cute she is! I showed my sister and friend and they loved her too, more than I originally thought they would!  I feel like I have learned a lot of the basics of sewing and notices a few areas I can improve on. I need to make my stitching smaller and more even so it's less visible. I hoping to make other My Little Pony characters in the future and maybe give some to my friends for Christmas. And also I am very happy to have a plushie I made myself to add to my collection! Next I am going to to a prototype of a more advanced pony plush!

Bring on the plushies!!!

And here is me and my other lovely My Little Pony plushies with the newest addition, Derpy Hooves!

  1. Excellent visual documentation of your process Raven. Derpy Hooves is adorable! The colors you used would be really attractive to young children.
If your first iteration looks that good, I wonder where there might be improvement in the next projects. Are there different kinds of stuffing you can buy to make them? You know how sometimes it feels like beads inside? Keep having fun!

  2. Even though you did a whole bunch of other more complicated types of sewing and designs I still like this one the most and I think it would be great if you you added more complex types of sewing to this pattern just cuz I love it so much. But also do really like how you drew on the eyes it make the hand made thing more personal. Great Job!
